Ballroom

Modern Australian Ballroom Dancing incorporates five infamous dances including Waltz, Tango, Foxtrot, Quickstep and Viennese Waltz, in addition to New Vogue - a form of sequence ballroom dancing that originated in Australia in the 1930s.

Our Beginners Ballroom Class starts by teaching Slow Rhythm, which forms the basis of many ballroom dances. The Waltz and Quick Step are then introduced.

The Improvers Ballroom Class, for intermediate ballroom dancers, goes on to teach Tango, which requires greater speed and technical ability and introduces Viennese Waltz and Slow Foxtrot.  Dances introduced during beginner’s ballroom are also polished and further perfected.

Finally, advanced Foxtrot is reserved for higher level, Medal Classes.

For those who would like to learn both Ballroom and Latin dancing, there is the option to take both beginner classes across 2 hours on a Monday evening or both intermediate classes on a Tuesday evening from, with a significant discount applied.

Ballroom classes operate on Monday and Tuesday evenings. A variety of different classes are available to suit your skill level and interests. Hourly classes are $20 per class or $95 for the term. Stay for back-to-back Ballroom/Latin classes and pay just $28 for two hours, or $135 for the term. Each term is 6 weeks. For further information, please see the timetable.
